The author polemizes with the characterization of the legacy of Vladimir Sergeevich Solovyov, presented by B.V. Mezhuyev in an interview with the Internet portal “Lenta.ru” and published in No. 1 of the journal “Solovyov Studies” in 2024. The opinion of B.V. Mezhuyev is disputed that Vladimir Sergeevich Solovyov, although he turned out to be blind to the world of the XX century, managed to consider something significant in the activities of the XXI century. As the author tries to show, V.S. Solovyov's geopolitical prophecies turned out to be far from the realities of the past and present century. At the same time, the value of Vladimir Sergeevich Solovyov's anthropological approach in the thinker's polyphonic and intense “Three Conversations” is noted. In this regard, the author does not at all believe that Vladimir Solovyov's “disturbing patriotism” should be identified with “Russian Victorianism” both according to the version of B.V. Mezhuyev and with the interpretation of the creator of this concept V.L. Tsymbursky.
