This article draws attention to the key features of the Laying down harmonised rules on Artificial Intelligence in the EU (Artificial Intelligence Act, AIA). The author analyzes the concept of “Artificial Intelligence Systems” and the approach to determining the risky areas of AI application and other features of the AIA. Promising directions for improving the Ukrainian legislation on artificial intelligence are being formed, in particular, in terms of the data ecosystem and their legal use in artificial intelligence systems.
