This study aims to determine the role of the government in increasing the yield of rice farmers in Karangtanjung Village, Candi District, Sidoarjo Regency. The study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques use instruments in the form of interviews, observations and documentation. The purpose of the study is that the role of the government as a Stabilizer, Innovator, Pioneer and implementer. The results of the study indicate that the role of the government in empowering rice farmers in Karangtanjung Village has been running although it is not yet fully effective. This shows that there has been no government effort to obtain superior seeds and environmentally friendly fertilizers that are affordable for the community according to the conditions of agricultural land in Karangtanjung Village so that it can increase community agricultural production.
