The implementation of pedagogical competence is influenced by the curriculum, learning process, and student characteristics. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of pedagogical competencies into the independent curriculum and to offer pedagogical implementation solutions. This research method uses descriptive-analytical based on case studies with the research subjects being teachers and first-grade students at SD Antawirya Krian Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. This problem is based on the 2013 curriculum transition to an independent curriculum. The solution for implementing pedagogical competence can be through maximizing teacher participation in training programs or Teacher Professional Education (PPG); optimizing the provision of information from the school curriculum regarding aspects of learning design, student characteristics, selecting appropriate learning media and information on student learning evaluation results, both cognitively, affectively and psychometrically; implementation of learning based on student learning styles; as well as academic supervision.
