Abstract This study examines the impacts of traditional values on sustainable tourism in Raja Ampat, Papua. The research uses a mixed-method approach including questionnaires, field observation, and in-depth interviews with key informants. The goal is to understand how traditional values influence the environmental elements of sustainable tourism in the region. The findings indicate that traditional buildings contribute to the well-being of tourists ( Ginting 2020). Furthermore, the diverse cultural activities in the region need an appropriate strategy to support and enhance the elements of sustainable tourism. In conclusion, the traditional values in Raja Ampat have a significant impact on sustainable tourism, especially the physical integrity and well-being of tourists, as they provide a unique and authentic accommodation experience. Sasi as the local genius has been effectively practiced by locals to conserve marine resources.
