The purpose of the study is to analyze the specifics of the rules for the production, storage, acquisition, use, transportation and destruction of precursors of narcotic and psychotropic substances, as well as reporting to authorized bodies. Methodology: general scientific and private scientific methods (comparative legal, formal legal, statistical) of scientific cognition of social processes and phenomena. Conclusions: taking into account many innovations of the authorized bodies affects the prevention of drug addiction and makes it possible to identify illegal transactions with these chemicals, as well as determine ways to successfully implement the powers of control and supervision in the field of precursor trafficking. In particular, attention is drawn to the need to study possible ways to improve the legislation of the Russian Federation in connection with the expansion of activities in the field of precursor trafficking. Scientific and practical significance: the study revealed the conditions for conducting forensic examinations during the preliminary investigation, the effectiveness of control and supervisory measures in the field of precursor trafficking, as well as bringing legal entities and individual entrepreneurs to administrative responsibility.
