Relevance: Vascular diseases of the brain account for a significant percentage of all cardiovascular diseases. World statistics invariably assign them the third, and in some economically developed countries even the second place among the main causes of human mortality. The most severe complication of vascular diseases is cerebral stroke, which often affects people in the prime of their creative powers. The exceptional attention paid to these lesions is explained, first of all, by their high prevalence. The purpose of the study is to identify the mechanisms of action and effectiveness of mechanotherapy. Methods and organization of research. The essence of the new approach to the use of mechanotherapy consists in adaptive sequential training of correct movements – from primitive to complex, with the aim of their neuro-reflex fixation during exercises, as well as to restore the trophic muscles, joints, ligaments, bones of the body segment, and, as a result, the body as a whole. The results of the study and their discussion. Treatment of patients with acute cerebrovascular accident, initiated in the first days and hours of stroke, significantly increases positive prognoses, both in relation to the patient's life and in relation to the restoration of impaired functions. The severe clinical course, the presence of pronounced defects leading to disability, limited possibilities of using methods of rehabilitation therapy and, consequently, a high degree of restoration of impaired functions in this category of patients currently determine the need to find new ways and methods to increase the effectiveness of rehabilitation measures. Conclusions. Based on the results of the study, we have developed practical recommendations that can be offered to instructors of therapeutic physical education working with patients of this category.
