Using a flipped classroom in a veterinary systems physiology course increases student performance on basic knowledge and clinical applicability questions.

A flipped classroom using case-based learning can significantly improve student performance in a veterinary physiology course with the largest gains going to lower performing students. Student perception of the flipped classroom can be improved by showing students data on the improvement in performance on examinations.
