The scientific article assessed the geo-ecological conditions of Mingachevir city and its environs, geo-ecological zoning was carried out. Here are suggestions and recommendations for the prevention of pollution of the main water facilities of state importance Mingachevir reservoir, Upper Karabakh canal, Varvara reservoir and others. In addition, the regular study of the impact of these water basins on the surrounding areas is one of the key issues ahead. In assessing the geo-ecological conditions, the dynamics of groundwater was taken as a basis. Currently, the groundwater level is rising as a result of leakage from the old sewage system. Therefore, the creation of a new water supply and sewerage system that can regulate modern infrastructure is considered necessary for the city of Mingachevir. In addition, the quarries operating around the city of Mingachevir further accelerate the sedimentation processes that occur in the cavities during the operation of gravel and sand. Therefore, the activity of such man-made factors must be prevented. Swamping and salinization processes in the areas around Mingachevir (Boschali, Huruushagi, Salahli, Balchili, Havarli Varvara, etc.) are the main factors affecting the geoecological conditions of the region. In connection with the development of agriculture in these areas, there is a migration of fertilizers to groundwater. To prevent such unpleasant situations, it is advisable to take the necessary preventive measures, as indicated in the scientific article.
