State sovereignty of Russia is the principle according to which the Russian Federation is an independent state with full power and control over its territory, population, laws and foreign policy. This principle was enshrined in the Russian Constitution, adopted in 1993. Sovereignty in the Russian constitution implies the supremacy and independence of the state. This article presents the results of the research using the method of analyzing literary sources of domestic and foreign authors. Having studied the history of state sovereignty and the accepted classification, we were able to explain the essence of this concept and identified its most famous theories.
