The rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has spurred innovative solutions across various domains, including food preservation.In response to the pressing issue of foodborne illnesses in India, a project titled "Food Detection System using IoT" has been conceptualized.This system aims to analyze ambient conditions to maintain the quality of perishable items such as fruits and vegetables.Utilizing sensors like the DHT-11 for temperature and humidity monitoring, as well as the MQ135 and MQ4 for gas sensing, the project assesses factors crucial to food freshness and safety.The Arduino Uno serves as the hardware platform, interfacing with these sensors and facilitating data transmission to the IoT platform via the ESP8266 Wi-Fi module.Additionally, the system incorporates a central base station connected to the internet for comprehensive fruit storage management.By aggregating data on temperature, humidity, and other environmental parameters, the project generates consolidated outputs to inform decision-making processes.Furthermore, integration with an Android mobile application enhances user interaction and accessibility, fostering efficient monitoring and maintenance of food quality standards to safeguard public health and mitigate food wastage.
