The article discusses various devices and gadgets for people with disabilities and people with disabilities. Such devices and gadgets help disabled people and people with limited health abilities to better navigate space and remind them of dangerous objects. At the Russian State Social University, an important place is given to working with people with disabilities. There is a resource center and many elements of an accessible environment. Therefore, students for their design choose topics aimed at developing such devices, namely: device for spatial orientation of persons with disabilities (vision); device for primary assessment of room climate parameters; prototype of a robotic assistant for people with disabilities based on a KUKA industrial robotic manipulator with an electric gripper; a prototype of a robotic assistant for cargo delivery. These devices are developed by students while studying the basics of programming, electronics and robotics to gain primary skills in performing real projects. The students gain important experience in designing prototype systems that function in real-world environments and perform real-world tasks. In addition, it is valuable here for students to acquire programming skills in C++ (Wiring version for the Arduino platform), Python, Processing and others.
