The relevance of the study is due to the need to find new management tools that can ensure increased competitiveness of Ukrainian regions in the context of globalization challenges, structural transformations of the economy and growing requirements for resource efficiency. The current socio-economic situation requires the implementation of such approaches that allow not only to increase the efficiency of enterprise operations, but also to form sustainable mechanisms for the development of territories, to ensure a balance between economic, social and environmental goals. One of the most promising tools is project management, which allows for systematic planning, coordination and control of the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring transparency, effectiveness and adaptability of management decisions. The purpose of the article is to determine the role of the project approach in the formation of sustainable regional development and increasing the economic attractiveness of regions in the context of Ukraine's integration into the global economic space. To achieve this goal, methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison, systemic and structural-functional approaches were used, which allowed for a comprehensive disclosure of the mechanisms of the impact of project management on the regional economy. The results of the study showed that the use of modern project management methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile) contributes to the optimization of the use of financial, human and natural resources, the activation of innovative development processes, the formation of cluster associations and the creation of prerequisites for the "smart specialization" of regions. It is also important that the project approach stimulates the development of public-private partnerships, strengthens the interaction between the authorities, business and the scientific and educational environment, and also increases the investment attractiveness of territories due to the transparency and predictability of management processes. The practical significance of the results obtained lies in the possibility of using the proposed approaches in the strategic planning of regional development, the activities of local governments, business structures and public organizations. The developed provisions can become the basis for the formation of new management models focused on innovative development, integration into the European economic space and ensuring the long-term competitiveness of the regions of Ukraine.
