Esophageal cancer is quite prevalent worldwide and usually carries a poor prognosis. Histologically, although squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma predominate, small cell carcinoma (SmCC) cases have been reported. Overall, there is a paucity of literature regarding this variant. In this article, we aim to highlight this uncommon entity of carcinoma esophagus and share our experience of SmCC patients seen over a decade at our institute.
