Abstract This paper is about vision and perception applied in a metaphorical sense to geography, engineering and management. GeoSpatial Technology (GST) is a critical “Emerging Technology” essential for competitiveness and sustainable development. Multiuser spatial computing is identified as a new revolution in information technology, similar to the Personal Computer (PC) and its derivatives. The need for Systems Thinking is emphasized, and the human dimensions of real-world problems are discussed as part of “Total Productivity Management” (TPM). The paper identifies major new paradigm shifts that open ways to innovation and new opportunities. Examples are given to show application of the Product Realization Process (PRP) to design and construction of a new youth center using TPM. Concurrent Engineering (CE), Total Quality Management (TQM), Robust Methods, and Taguchi Quality Loss Function (QLF) are shown to be subsets of TPM, and Synergistic Technology Transfer (STT) is shown to be enhanced significantly through new methods of “Technology Propagation” and “Impact Analysis”.
