With the continuous development of society, the construction of new liberal arts has gradually become an important direction of higher education. As an important part of humanistic education, music curriculum should also adapt to the needs of the construction of new liberal arts and strengthen the reform of ideological and political education. The purpose of ideological and political education in music courses is to cultivate students’ aesthetic ability, cultural accomplishment and moral sentiment, so that they can become music talents with social responsibility, innovative spirit and international vision. However, there are some problems in the ideological and political education of music courses, such as obsolete teaching ideas, monotonous teaching content, monotonous teaching methods, etc., which restrict students’ all-round development. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the practical exploration of the reform path of music ideological and political education under the background of the construction of new liberal arts, and to provide new ideas and methods for music education.
