Professional Standards and Quality Concern in Teacher Education

The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) of India aims to revamp the education system and lay a roadmap for a progressive educated country. The policy recommends moving the teacher education system into multidisciplinary colleges and universities, with a four-year integrated B.Ed. program becoming the minimum degree qualification for school teachers by 2030. A common guiding set of National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) will be developed by 2022.
