Family law has as main characteristic its connection to the life of individuals, dealing with interpersonal relationships involving affective bonds and generating patrimonial, personal and assistance effects. Its repercussions are repeatedly taken to the judiciary, which is currently very saturated, causing dissatisfaction to the population. The practice of mediation is preliminary to the work of the Judiciary, but some progress, investments and studies are still necessary to ensure its maximum effectiveness. The objective of this work is to demonstrate the importance of the mediation institute as a method of solving family conflicts, highlighting their peculiarities.
