The Corso Regina Margherita Bridge in Turin, Italy, stands as a significant example of modern urban bridge design. Built at the beginning of the 1970s, it is an example of a modern urban road bridge with peculiar shapes, characteristics, and structural design choices. Currently, the bridge is the focus of an ongoing study by a consortium led by Nhazca S.r.l. (prime) and that includes Nplus S.r.l., S2R S.r.l., and Politecnico di Torino (scientific leader). As part of this effort, the ISABHEL (Integrated SAtellite and ground-based monitoring for Bridge HEalth Lifetime assessment) project, funded by the European Space Agency (ESA), aims to implement a tailor-made permanent system for continuous static and dynamic monitoring, supplemented by remote sensing techniques and 5G communication technologies. This short contribution outlines preliminary considerations regarding the bridge's monitoring needs and potential strategies for long-term structural health assessment.
