Abstract: Spiritus: A Journal of Christian Spirituality is the official journal of the Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality (SSCS). On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Spiritus , nine scholars were invited to articulate their perceptions of the current state of Christian spirituality studies by responding to the question: Where do you think we are at this moment in the history of the discipline? Recurring themes among the responses include the rise of a culture-wide “new apophaticism,” growing attunement to voices from the Global South, an increase in ecological consciousness, and the continuing challenge to establish disciplinary recognition within the academy.
