Hair problems, is commonly seen now a days and it is becoming challenging disease to treat for a physician. In Ayurvedic approach, loss of hair is coined out as in term of ‘Indralupta’ under the broad heading, indralupta, is disease which is characterised by hair fall in small patches. It can be correlated to Alopecia areata in morden through its Nidana Panchaka. Alopecia areata is the commonest cause of patchy hair loss. Early hairfall has been attributed to be the result of varied factors like hormonal imbalance, faulty hair care, pol1lution, cosmetic, junk food etc. To solve the above query and to find out promising treatment for the present study ‘Indralupta’ (Alopecia Areata) has been undertaken. Treatment protocol to be adopted for the indralupta includes Shodhana Karma Because of involvement of pitta dosha, Virechana and Rakta mokshana are commonly indicated in this disease Prachanna Karma is type of Raktamokshana in which multiple times incision is done to remove the impure blood. Here, as Kapha & Rakta blocks Romakoopa so with the help of Prachanna Karma blockage is removed as it removes Kapha & Rakta. It also increase the circulation which improves the perifollicular vascularization. Indralupta occurs due to Rakta Dushti and treatment of Indralupta includes Prachchhana karma as a first line of treatment according to many Acharya. For the treatment of vitiated Rakta, Raktamokshana is the line of treatment . Prachchanna Karma is one among Raktmokshaņa , Acharya Sushruta and Acharya Vagbhatta both described Prachchanna Karma as a treatment of Indralupta. In this case to evaluate the efficacy of treatment based on the difference between the patient's before and after treatment signs and symptoms. with the help of Assessment Criteria.
