From Chaos to Clarity: The Keçeci Layout for Order-Dependent Systems Mehmet Keçeci ORCID : https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9937-9839 Received: 03.10.2025 Abstract: The visualisation of scientific data is crucial for revealing latent patterns within complex systems. Conventional force-directed layout algorithms, while effective for showing general topology, are non-deterministic and obscure the inherent sequential identities of nodes. This presents a notable limitation for analysing systems with an intrinsic sequential logic, such as metabolic pathways or quantum circuits. The “Keçeci Layout” is a deterministic, order-preserving algorithm designed to address this deficiency. It arranges nodes sequentially along a primary axis, utilising a predictable zigzag pattern on a secondary axis to avert overlaps. This method generates a direct correspondence between the system's data structure and its visual representation. Case studies across various scientific fields demonstrate its efficacy. In conclusion, the Keçeci Layout offers enhanced analytical depth by faithfully representing the underlying data structure, proving particularly advantageous for the visual analysis of ordered or index-dependent systems.
