Abstract Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disease affecting the reproductive health of women of childbearing age, characterized by hyperandrogenism, chronic ovulatory dysfunction, and polycystic ovarian changes, which seriously affect their fertility and metabolic health. In recent years, the role of ferroptosis and lipid metabolism in PCOS has attracted widespread attention. Ferroptosis is a form of cell death that depends on iron, while lipid metabolism disorders are closely related to insulin resistance and obesity. This article aims to explore the mechanisms, roles, and potential therapeutic strategies of ferroptosis and lipid metabolism in PCOS, providing new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of PCOS and improving the prognosis of PCOS patients.
