The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of ESG strategies in traditional industries and to identify differences between the models of integration of environmental, social and management practices. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the leading industrial sectors — energy, mining, and metallurgy — based on a set of ESG metrics, corporate reporting, and industry standards for sustainable development. The use of benchmarking, econometric analysis and multifactorial assessment methods allowed us to identify key factors that increase the effectiveness of ESG initiatives, as well as identify typical barriers to implementation related to technological specifics, institutional conditions and the level of maturity of corporate governance. The results of the study demonstrate that the effectiveness of ESG strategies varies significantly between industries and depends on the depth of digitalization of processes, the degree of decarbonization and the introduction of transparent reporting mechanisms. The findings can be used to develop industry-specific ESG models, optimize corporate strategies, and formulate regulatory measures aimed at accelerating sustainable industrial transformation.
