Abstract

ABSTRACT We report the genome sequences of two syntrophic gram-negative bacteria, Syntrophomonas erecta GB4-38 T and Syntrophomonas erecta subsp. sporosyntropha 5-3-Z T , which degrade C4-C8 short-chain fatty acids when grown in co-culture with a suitable hydrogen-consuming microbial strain.
