ChemView is a browser-based molecular visualization tool designed for interactive rendering of three-dimensional molecular structures directly within modern web browsers. The application provides native support for quantum-chemical output files, particularly ORCA calculations, including advanced compound job workflows, orbital visualization, and high-quality image generation suitable for scientific communication. ChemView executes entirely on the client side, without requiring server-side computational backends for visualization tasks. Molecular coordinate data remain within the user’s local browser session and are not transmitted to external servers for rendering or parsing. This architecture supports confidentiality of unpublished structures and enables transparent inspection of data flow using standard browser developer tools. The software is provided as a hosted web application and is currently released as beta version 0.8.4. Since its deployment, ChemView has maintained consistent daily use in research and teaching environments, averaging approximately 10 active users per day over the past year. Planned developments include extended support for additional quantum-chemical output formats, enhanced ORCA calculation parsing, improved live interaction features (e.g., direct XYZ input), support for emerging formats such as Gaussian 25, and integration of an advanced browser-based molecule builder.
