New Sensitive High Resolution Ion Microprobe (SHRIMP) U–Pb geochronological results for two sedimentary rocks and three igneous rocks from the Georgetown and Cairns regions are presented in this Record. Three of the samples analysed are from cores of basement units intersected in drill holes Karumba KASO₀041₁, Wallabadah West G1-001, and Karumba KASO₀048₁ that penetrated overlying rocks of the Karumba (Cenozoic) and Carpentaria (Mesozoic) basins. One of the three samples is from a unit tentatively assigned to the late Paleoproterozoic Candlow Formation (BB6015/9964922, Etheridge Province), one from the early Mesoproterozoic Croydon Volcanic Group (BB6083/9964911, Croydon Province), and one from solid geology unit Pv (BB6080/9964923) of the late Paleozoic Kennedy Igneous Association.
