Background: Mast cell tryptase (MCT) testing is requested to investigate monoclonal and polyclonal mast cell disorders, hereditary alpha tryptasemia and IgE-mediated anaphylaxis. The current cut-off for normal MCT levels is 11.4 μg/L.
