Shapeshifting Liquid Metal Droplets This cover illustrates the explosive-like deformation of a liquid metal droplet as Lorentz forces oppose its high surface tension. By harnessing these field-induced instabilities under extremely low voltages, we demonstrate liquid metal shapeshifting — an autonomous, self-oscillating, self-organizing effect that enables electrical-to-fluidic power transduction in a soft pump. This approach provides a compact material platform for soft robotics, microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip systems.
