The study explores historical foundations that have influenced contemporary governance challenges in Chad, a country in Central Africa. A comparative analysis of archival documents, interviews with former officials, and secondary sources from the period spanning the independence era to present-day challenges. Historical data reveals a significant impact of colonial legacies on current administrative structures and public service delivery patterns in Chad, with over 60% of interviewees attributing these issues to historical factors. The study concludes that understanding the historical roots is crucial for addressing contemporary governance challenges in Chad. Policy recommendations include strengthening institutional reforms based on a deep-rooted historical analysis and fostering intergenerational dialogue about past policies.
