Urban slums in Chad present unique challenges for access to justice due to socio-economic disparities and limited legal infrastructure. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews was employed. Data were collected from a stratified random sample of urban slum dwellers in Chad. Survey results indicated that 45% of respondents reported difficulties accessing legal services, primarily due to language barriers and lack of awareness about available resources. Vulnerable populations face significant challenges in navigating the justice system, underscoring the need for targeted interventions such as multilingual legal clinics and community education programmes. Expanding the reach of legal aid organizations into urban slums, implementing community-based legal awareness campaigns, and improving language accessibility are recommended solutions.
