Urban youth in Nairobi slums face significant oral health challenges due to limited access to dental care and poor hygiene practices. A comprehensive search of peer-reviewed journals, grey literature, and databases was conducted to identify relevant studies. Studies were screened for inclusion based on predefined criteria and a thematic analysis approach was used to synthesize the findings. Developmental interventions showed promising results in enhancing oral hygiene practices among participants, with an increase of 25% in daily toothbrushing frequency observed across multiple studies. The review underscores the importance of multifaceted approaches that combine education and community engagement to address barriers to dental care. Integrating oral health into urban development plans is recommended, alongside targeted interventions focusing on improving access to dental services and hygiene resources. Treatment effect was estimated with logit (pᵢ) =₀+^ Xᵢ, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
