In Ethiopia, rural primary care centers face challenges in managing patient health records due to limited resources and traditional manual methods. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys of healthcare providers, observations at selected centers, and analysis of EHR system implementation data. The EHR system showed a significant improvement in record accuracy (95% confidence interval: 0. 87-0. 96) compared to manual methods, reducing errors by 43%. User satisfaction scores averaged 82 out of 100. Despite technical and infrastructure challenges, the EHR system demonstrated potential in enhancing healthcare service quality and sustainability in rural settings. Further research is needed to address remaining technical issues and integrate existing data sources into the EHR system.
