Abstract

Objective: Overcrowding in emergency departments is a global issue that negatively impacts patient outcomes. Effective teamwork and coordination among multidisciplinary teams in EDs are essential for enhancing care quality. This study aims to assess the knowledge level of non-emergency physicians regarding ED processes and identify training needs. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted from January 1 to March 1, 2025, using a questionnaire distributed to non-emergency physicians at Balikesir University Medical Faculty Hospital. The questionnaire included demographic data and 24 questions assessing knowledge of triage, ED functioning, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
