The research, which result is briefly showed here, approaches the French draftsman and engraver of the XVII century Louis Meunier. Its main purposes are as follows: to collect his Spanish theme work; to analyze it attending its content and formalization; to context it; and to explore its later influence in both the engraving production throughout the following centuries, and the Spanish architectural and urban heritage historiography. His production has been classified according to its principal features, distinguishing two wide groups. The first one is formed by the engravings mainly gathered in his work called Diversas vistas de Las casas y Jardines de plazer del Rei despana… and in other minor collections, which are devoted to a particular building, place or environment. The second group of works, for its part, is composed by the large panoramic views of Spanish cities, whose attribution should take into account the editorial contribution of Israël Silvestre. The text brings to light Meunier most remarkable features regarding themes and aspects strictly graphic. However, it takes part of a wider project related to the architecture and city drawing history, which is being developed in several complementary directions.
