Ricky Schade (he/him) describes himself as a cis white dude, and a queer person. He discusses his decision to leave Montana and move to Portland, Oregon, with his partner and their child, Clem. As a child, Ricky moved around a lot within Montana. He was raised in the Pentecostal church yet found community within the punk scene in Great Falls, Montana. While living in Montana, Ricky participated in activism through protests, including the Day of Trans Visibility March, and testified against HB 391 in Helena. He describes Portland as more progressive and accepting, which was important for Clem’s upbringing and to Ricky’s partner, both of whom are non-binary.
Richard Schade (Fri,) studied this question.
