As part of its intentional commitment to amplifying the intellectual leadership of artists, writers, and scholars of reciprocal and restorative community engagement and public arts and humanities, Michigan State University's College of Arts and Letters created a new postdoctoral or post-MFA Fellows program in the Arts and Humanities in 2022-23. The goal of the program was to create a cohort of early career scholars who would contribute to and benefit from a diverse, vibrant, and inclusive intellectual community in the College. The program included a cohort mentoring opportunity and also incorporated all aspects of the CPIL Initiative for successful faculty recruitment and retention, including the Work Plan that helped to document the transition plan from post-doc to tenure system position. The original program documents have been amended to be used as a template for those interested in creating a similar program.
