This research protocol evaluates the impact of school-based health education programmes aimed at improving food security in Tanzanian villages. A mixed-methods approach will be employed, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews to gather data from both students and their parents or guardians. Initial findings indicate an improvement in students' knowledge about healthy eating habits, with a statistically significant p < 0. 05 for dietary practices change scores compared to pre-intervention levels. The preliminary results suggest that school-based health education programmes can enhance food security by improving nutritional awareness among participants. Further research should be conducted to explore the long-term effects and potential scalability of these educational interventions.
