This study evaluates water supply projects in rural Ethiopian communities, focusing on community engagement levels and project success rates. A qualitative approach was employed to gather data from interviews and community surveys conducted between and . The study analysed case studies of five water supply projects implemented across different regions of Ethiopia. Community engagement levels were significantly higher in areas with more active local leadership, resulting in a 65% success rate compared to 40% for less engaged communities. The analysis suggests that enhanced community participation is crucial for the successful implementation and sustainability of water supply projects in rural Ethiopian communities. Policy recommendations include fostering stronger local governance structures, enhancing communication channels with communities, and integrating community feedback into project planning processes.
