The rapid growth of digital leisure services has led to increased adoption of subscription-based monetization strategies, particularly freemium and premium models, as platforms attempt to balance user acquisition with sustainable revenue. This study examines how these pricing models influence user conversion behavior across digital leisure platforms such as streaming, gaming, music, and lifestyle applications. A quantitative approach was used, collecting 170 valid responses through a structured online questionnaire and analyzing them using descriptive statistical techniques. The results indicate that platform trust and perceived value are the strongest drivers of user engagement, with over 80% of respondents expressing confidence in platform reliability and nearly 90% recognizing value benefits. Although users showed moderate engagement and loyalty intentions, conversion to paid subscriptions occurred gradually. Price sensitivity and promotional incentives had limited influence, while intrinsic motivation such as enjoyment and personal satisfaction played a more significant role in continued usage. The study highlights that effective monetization in digital leisure services relies more on delivering trustworthy, valuable, and engaging experiences than on pricing incentives alone, offering insights for platforms to design balanced freemium–premium strategies for long-term retention and profitability.
