  • Investigated photon phase accumulation along null trajectories.
  • Analyzed the implications of cosmological expansion on gravitational memory dynamics.
  • Established a link between operational definitions of time and gravitational response.
  • Demonstrated that relaxation dynamics affect galactic behavior on large scales.
  • Showed that spacetime properties influence the flow of time in cosmological contexts.

Abstract

This work proposes a new physical interpretation of timebased on photon phase propagation in a viscoelastic spacetime. In this framework spacetime behaves as a medium possessinggravitational memory and relaxation dynamics governed by thecosmological expansion rate. Photon phase accumulation along null trajectories provides anoperational definition of time, while the same viscoelasticdynamics generate an emergent gravitational response onastrophysical scales. This unified picture links the operational flow of time, cosmological expansion, and galactic dynamics within a singlephysical mechanism rooted in spacetime relaxation.
