Afrofuturism is a contemporary cultural movement that explores visions of Africa's future by drawing on elements from African history and traditions to imagine alternative realities. The study employed an online survey design to gather data from a diverse sample of Ghanaians across different demographics. Respondents were invited through social media platforms and academic networks. A significant proportion (45%) of respondents indicated that Afrofuturism offers them a unique window into potential future scenarios for Ghana, with themes including technological advancements, cultural renaissance, and environmental sustainability emerging as dominant themes. The survey results underscore the importance of Afrofuturism in fostering nuanced understandings of African futures, particularly in relation to public imagination and societal aspirations. Future research could explore how Afrofuturist narratives influence policy-making and educational curricula in Ghana, as well as investigate the impact on broader social movements aiming for positive change.
