In cosmetics manufacturing, powders are fed into liquids and mixed to create cosmetics with various functions. Until now, disperser impeller is used as stirring impeller for mixing into liquid. However, since disperser impeller predominantly discharge in the radial direction, the powder cannot reliably pass through the stirring impeller, resulting in a long time required to complete the mixing process. In this study, a stirring impeller was proposed that generates an internal tank flow to reliably draw the powder into the impeller. Finally, mixing experiments of powder and liquid were conducted using proposed stirring impeller, and the effectiveness was demonstrated by evaluating the ease of powder dispersion into liquid based on the amount of sedimented powder measured at different stirring times.
