On April 3, 2024, Fukushima Medical University hosted the China-Japan Joint Symposium on Disasters and Public Health Crises, welcoming public health professors from Fudan University in China to share and discuss disaster medicine and public health challenges in the two countries. The attendees addressed various topics such as strategies for managing infectious disease epidemics, environmental changes caused by public works initiatives, and the various health-related impacts of the Fukushima nuclear accident on residents near the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
