Transcranial irradiation by ultrasonic waves at the site of the occlusion to promote the effect of the thrombolytic agent in the acute phase of cerebral infarction possibly causes damage to the brain by interference of reflected waves within the skull. In order to avoid such a phenomenon, we proposed a transcranial adaptive ultrasonic lens composed by optimizing the arrangement of point-like scatterers. So far, the functions and performance of the proposed lens have been verified and confirmed using a 2D model. In this study, we formulated an approximate integral equation method for the 3D scattering problem of point-like scatterers and evaluated the performance of the ultrasonic lens using a 3D model.
