It is important to understand the pressure distribution in the tunnel when designing the tunnel ventilation systems. There are two types in expressing pressure distributions, which are based on static pressure and total pressure. However, problems often occur caused by misunderstanding their differences. The author tries to describe the physical meanings of them, hoping to avoid confusion.
