This paper examines Marcel Romanescu's 1932 photo album on the "Romanian" monuments of Istanbul, presented to the Romanian Academy with photographs by Jean Weinberg. Featuring samples of Fener and Balat architecture, as well as reproductions of several archival documents, it reflects a "national-minded" travelogue style. Compared with contemporary albums, Romanescu's work blends historical documentation with literary sensibility, showing how Romanian intellectuals of the 1930s defined and engaged with Istanbul's Romanian heritage.
