Graduation research is a requirement for graduation in many engineering faculties. Even students who are enthusiastic about experiments and analyses to carry out their research and have achieved results, however, often struggle with writing their graduation thesis. This paper focused on guidance in writing graduation theses and considered what kind of guidance should be provided with a few examples. When correcting student’s thesis, it seems to be important for faculty members to add comments to the sentences that need correction, rather than presenting specific suggestions for correction to students. This method could give students an opportunity to think about why their writing needs corrections. In recent years, some paper correction tools using generative artificial intelligence have been developed. In order to effectively use such tools to improve scientific writing skills and write a thesis worthy of a graduation thesis, it is necessary to correctly understand why their writing needs corrections, in addition to deeply understand their own research. Therefore, faculty members need to fully understand the situation of each student as far as possible and provide appropriate comments that allow students to find the answer themselves, rather than giving them the correct answer.
