Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the implementation of the maritime power strategy has been accelerated. However, China still has inadequate imbalances in its comprehensive understanding and management of the oceans. The current trend of “anti-globalization” is gradually rising. Western developed countries are developing and developing marine resources. Maritime channel control, polar oceans, and other aspects are constantly accelerating the cross-integration of information technology comprehensive acquisition of marine information, and the development of the marine information industry is imminent. The Fifth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Party made important arrangements for accelerating the development of digitalization, which provided a fundamental basis for the development of the marine information industry. Vigorously developing the marine information industry and deepening the cross-integration of the ocean and information is of great strategic significance for the development of marine undertakings and the building of a maritime power. This paper analyzes the current status and problems of my country’s marine information industry in terms of infrastructure, technology and equipment, market development, policy guarantees, etc., by studying the definition and industrial chain of the marine information industry, combined with the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and proposes Suggestions for accelerate the development of the marine information industry.
