The article is a scientific-historical study dedicated to the biography, personal qualities, and professional achievements of Werner Karlovich Gaida, a renowned representative of the practical branch of the Leningrad psychological school, doctor of psychological sciences, and professor. His extraordinary personal qualities and pronounced pedagogical talent are highlighted. The article examines V.K. Gaida’s role in the work of the academic and pedagogical team at the Faculty of Psychology of Leningrad State University, as well as his contributions to the cognitive research direction in visual perception processes. His achievements and fundamental contributions to the field of psychodiagnostics are also noted.
